Articles
Giving me regular downs now. I'm still having a hard time coordinating articles and rewards, but she loves the game, even if it means her breakfast is delayed.
I need to get a more stable ottoman on which to sit--this one kept tipping forward whenever I'd have to lean over to treat on a distant article.
Starting around 3:36 it looks like we are getting a LOT of what we want. Nose touch, and then an offered down. Whoopee!! This is tiny, but important—click for her going down, not being down—click action not stationary behavior. I think the next thing to do is to start getting you out of the picture. Moving you to the ottoman didn’t phase her at all—the behavior was stable. So let’s have you stand up—lots of toe touches in your immediate future! Other option is rolling chair (like a desk chair). Set the article down within about 3 feet of your feet, while you stand up straight or sit up straight in your chair. Avoid eye contact! The instant she downs, shower treats from above. We want to remove eye contact from her cue picture, since there won’t be eye contact when tracking. If you need a smaller split, sit on ottoman, look at ceiling…. I love what you are getting, I want you to get it without her feeling that looking at you is part of the cue.
